Up to 24 hours of fun, a great trophy and a chance to raise
funds for research
A twitch is an event when teams try to find
as many species of birds as they can in a given time.
Select one of the following options:
OPEN: 24 hours covering anywhere in Queensland with a team
of 2 or more..
HALF DAY: 12 hours covering anywhere in Queensland with a
team of 2 or more.
ECOTWITCH: 24 hours covering anywhere in Queensland with
a team of 2 or more, and using only public transport.
HALF ECOTWITCH: The same as the Ecotwitch but limited to
a 12 hour period.
WALKING TWITCH: 24 hours in Queensland without using any
form of transport during that period
HALF WALKING TWITCH: The same as the walking twitch but limited
to a 12 hour period
BRISBANE CITY TWITCH: The best of the above options when
coducted wholly within the City limits
When: Between noon Saturday 27 and noon Sunday 28 October 2007.
Birding area: Confined to Queensland, or Brisbane City limits,
depending on the option selected.
Birds Counted: Must be alive, unrestrained and from free-living
established populations of full species
Ethics: The usual bird watching ethics apply. No recorded calls
or mechanical devices to attract birds.
NO TRESPASSING. NO ENTERING AREAS THAT REQUIRE A PERMIT WITHOUT A
PERMIT

SUBMITTING RESULTS On the checklist, tick off the birds
identified, complete the details on the last page and return the
whole form by Monday 29th October 2007. Late entries will not
be considered.
Results: Will be published in the December issue of the Birds
Queensland Newsletter. Results will be emailed to teams that supply an
email address.
